Since opening our doors, our focus has been entirely on elevating patient care through cutting-edge first aid training and immersive, real-world simulations.

We are driven by a singular mission: to sharpen patient assessment and response times by delivering top-tier skills training. Every course is taught by a local team of frontline paramedics who bring over ten years of active emergency experience straight to the classroom. ​
Our Wollongong branch delivers a full range of educational pathways, from nationally accredited certifications to tailored, non-accredited simulation workshops. To maintain absolute compliance, First Aid Training Specialists Wollongong operates in partnership with Allen’s Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909). This collaboration ensures all accredited courses strictly align with ASQA standards and Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, awarding you a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment that pairs local insight with regulatory authority. ​
Beyond the classroom, we support the community's emergency readiness by supplying premium first aid kits, medical consumables, and automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Built on practical, hands-on experience, our training ensures that every student—from the Wollongong CBD and Shellharbour up to Bulli and across the Illawarra—leaves with the certainty and capability to save lives.
Jeremy Kuiper
Registered Paramedic & Clinical Education Officer
Jeremy Kuiper is an accomplished paramedic and clinical educator, dedicated to advancing healthcare workforce development and community public safety.
Jeremy Kuiper is a skilled and versatile paramedic holding professional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). With seven years of experience serving the community across both rural and metropolitan regions with the state ambulance service, he currently operates within the Illawarra. Jeremy brings a diverse and robust academic foundation to his frontline role, holding a Bachelor of Clinical Practice (Paramedic) completed in Bathurst, alongside a Bachelor of Medical and Health Sciences. Deeply invested in healthcare workforce development, Jeremy serves as a Clinical Education Officer for a non-profit organisation, where he supports the continuing professional development of registered paramedics across Australia and New Zealand through tailored eLearning, webinars, and workshops. His educational expertise is backed by a Post Graduate Certificate in Digital Teaching and Learning, alongside a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Furthermore, Jeremy brings over a decade of experience in vocational training, having delivered CPR, First Aid, and Advanced Resuscitation programs across New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia, complemented by private sector experience in event medical and remote environments. Jeremy’s commitment to public safety extends significantly into the community as a professional lifeguard and devoted Surf Lifesaver. He is the current President and Chair of the Board for the Fairy Meadow Surf Lifesaving Club, where he has also served nine terms as the Director of Education since 2011. Still actively delivering hands-on training to the club’s volunteer lifesavers, his outstanding contributions to the sector were recognised in 2026 when he was named Surf Lifesaving Illawarra’s Assessor of the Year. Driven by a lifelong passion for education, Jeremy is dedicated to equipping both healthcare professionals and the community with the vital skills and confidence needed to optimise patient outcomes.
Meg Dawson
Registered Paramedic
Meagan Dawson is a skilled paramedic and operational leader, dedicated to advancing clinical education and community emergency resilience.
Meagan (Meg) Dawson is a skilled and dedicated paramedic holding professional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). With eight years of frontline experience, Meg commenced her career in Brisbane, Queensland, before transitioning to New South Wales, where she has served diverse communities across both regional and metropolitan sectors. Throughout her career with the state ambulance service, she has demonstrated strong leadership capabilities, frequently undertaking secondments in the pivotal management role of Station Officer. Today, she utilises this dual expertise in clinical care and operational leadership in her role as a Paramedic, now working in Urgent Care centres in NSW. Meg backs her extensive practical knowledge with a solid academic foundation, holding a Bachelor of Clinical Practice (Paramedic) alongside a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Her aptitude for clinical education and workforce development allows her to seamlessly bridge the gap between high-level medical management and hands-on skill delivery, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. Since moving to the coast, Meg has channelled her vital skills into the community through her heavy involvement with the Fairy Meadow Surf Lifesaving Club. As an active member of the club's committee, she helps set the club's direction while directly safeguarding the public by delivering essential training in CPR, First Aid, and Advanced Resuscitation to volunteer lifesavers. Her outstanding contribution and selflessness were highly recognised in 2026, when she was named Surf Lifesaving Illawarra’s Volunteer of the Year and received the prestigious Keith Caldwell Memorial Award. Driven by a passion for healthcare and community resilience, Meg is dedicated to empowering others with life-saving skills.
Chloe Betts
Registered Intensive Care Paramedic & Lecturer in Paramedicine
Chloe Betts is a distinguished paramedic and educator, dedicated to advancing emergency medical care and paramedicine research.​
With eleven years industry experience on the frontline with the states ambulance service and a registered professional with AHPRA, Chloe is committed to clinical excellence. Operating as a dual specialist in Intensive Care and Extended care, Chloe has navigated challenging high pressure situations, including serving as a single responder during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her dedication to the field extends beyond clinical practice. Chloe is currently pursuing a PhD focusing on paramedic workforce retention and attrition. Her research titled, ‘In their narrative: an exploration of paramedic workforce retention and attrition through an intersectional lens creating a framework for sustained engagement,’ promises to contribute valuable insights to the field. Chloe holds a Masters in Paramedical Science with a Critical Care Specialisation and has been honoured for her academic achievements by induction into the Golden Key Honours Society. She also possesses a Bachelor of Clinical Practice (Paramedic) laying a solid foundation for her career in emergency medical services In addition to her academic pursuits, Chloe serves as a Lecturer in Paramedicine at Charles Sturt University, where she shares her expertise and mentors the future workforce of paramedics. Her research contributions have been recognised through publications in esteemed journals including the Australasian Emergency Care Journal and the International Journal of Paramedicine. Notable publications include; ‘exploring paramedic personality profiles and the relationship with burnout and employment retention: a scoping review,’ along with, ‘paramedic workforce disparities marked by geographical positioning: comparison of rural and urban regions,’ and finally, ‘understanding the occupational factors that influence paramedic health and wellbeing.’ ​Chloe’s diverse experience also extends to the mining industry, where she worked as an Emergency Response Officer at a gold and copper mine in the states Central West. Her qualifications in underground mine rescue, snake relocation and control, wildfire response,  vertical rescue, gas detectors and open and closed breathing apparatus equip her with the knowledge and understanding of emergencies encountered in the mining environment and the unique challenges this poses. Driven by a passion for improving paramedic practice and advancing the wellbeing of emergency responders, Chloe Betts continues to make significant contributions to the field of paramedicine through her clinical expertise, academic research, and educational endeavours.
Aaron Betts
Registered Paramedic
Aaron is a skilled and dedicated paramedic holding professional registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).​​
With seven years of experience currently serving the community in the states Central West, he brings a wealth of practical knowledge to his role backed by a Diploma in Paramedical Science. Throughout his career with the state ambulance service, Aaron has demonstrated leadership ability, having completed secondments in the management role of Station Officer. His commitment to service was particularly evident during the states bushfire disaster where he was awarded a Premier’s citation. In addition, he also worked in the front line during the COVID-19 pandemic in Sydney’s South-West as a paramedic. As a mentor, Aaron actively contributes to the development of the future paramedicine workforce as he mentors paramedic students through their compulsory on road ambulance placements. ​​​​Driven by a passion for public health and safety, Aaron is dedicated to increasing awareness of vital first aid skills in both emergent and non-emergent settings. His goal is to empower individuals with the knowledge and confidence needed to effectively assess and manage patients in a timely manner, contributing to improved patient outcomes.
Michelle Broms
Mental Health First Aid Educator
Michelle is a veteran NSW Police leader and psychology scholar, dedicated to advancing workplace mental health, communication, and psychological safety.
Michelle is passionate about helping individuals and teams build the skills, confidence and resilience needed to succeed in today's dynamic workplaces. With more than 21 years of service in the NSW Police Force, including nine years as a supervising sergeant, she brings extensive leadership experience gained in high-pressure operational and organisational environments. During her policing career, Michelle worked across frontline, specialist and corporate roles, leading teams, mentoring staff and supporting people through complex and challenging situations. These experiences reinforced the importance of effective leadership, communication, psychological safety and wellbeing in creating positive workplace cultures. They also inspired her passion for helping people better understand themselves and others, strengthen resilience, and foster environments where individuals feel supported, valued and empowered to perform at their best. Michelle's professional qualifications include an Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management, Advanced Diploma of Human Resource Management, Advanced Diploma of Business, Diploma of Public Safety, Diploma of Policing Practice, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, which she has held since 2008. In the final four years of her policing career, she specialised in developing, facilitating and assessing leadership and management programs, supporting the growth of future NSW Police Force leaders. With more than ten years' experience in training and facilitation, Michelle delivers engaging, practical learning experiences that combine evidence-based approaches with real-world insights. Her focus is on equipping participants with practical skills and strategies they can confidently apply in both their professional and personal lives. Currently studying psychology, Michelle continues to expand her knowledge in leadership, wellbeing and human behaviour. She has also completed mental health and first aid training and proudly volunteers with the NSW Rural Fire Service. Her commitment to serving the community has been recognised through several prestigious honours, including a Commissioner's Emergency Commendation, the Premier's Bushfire Emergency Citation and the National Emergency Medal. Michelle is driven by a genuine passion for helping people realise their potential. Whether working with emerging leaders, experienced professionals or workplace teams, she is committed to developing confidence, strengthening wellbeing and empowering people to lead themselves and others with authenticity and purpose. She believes that when people are provided with the right knowledge, encouragement and opportunities to grow, they are capable of achieving far more than they imagine—and supporting that growth is at the heart of everything she does.

Melody brings the experience of running her own small business, while Britt contributes extensive corporate management and operations experience, helping ensure every client receives exceptional support from enquiry through to course completion.
