Occupational First Aid

Participants in this course will acquire a comprehensive set of skills to set up, manage, and facilitate appropriate first aid arrangements within a workplace, as well as the practical knowledge needed to deliver an immediate response during an emergency.
These competencies are designed for individuals who currently hold, or are looking to step into, designated occupational first aider positions within their organisation.

HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
HLTAID014 – Provide Advanced First Aid
HLTAID015 – Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy
HLTAID016 – Manage first aid services and resources

Course Details
Course delivery
This course is offered as a face-to-face course. Pre-course learning is required.
Course duration
Face to Face minimum duration is 16 hours (2 days).
Pre-requisites
The prerequisite unit required prior to commencing HLTAID015 is HLTAID009. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
Training requirements
Face to face training consists of theory presentations and range of practical learning activities and scenarios.
Assessment requirements
Assessment activities will include a knowledge test and practical assessments including CPR and First Aid techniques. Students will also complete scenarios in a simulated environment.
Course renewal requirements
The statement of attainment is valid for 3 years*.
*Please note that the CPR component of the training is valid for 12 months and should be updated annually.
