Mental Health First Aid Training
About the course
Mental health is everyone’s responsibility, and creating an occupational culture where people feel supported, heard, and secure when seeking assistance is more critical than ever. Based in Wollongong and deploying directly to client sites across NSW and Australia, our Workplace Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training provides practical, evidence-informed strategies designed to equip your team with the skills and confidence to recognise when a colleague may be struggling and respond with empathy.
Grounded in contemporary mental health research, psychological safety principles, and Australian workplace wellbeing frameworks, this course shifts focus away from heavy theory and straight toward actionable, real-world skills. Participants will leave with the capacity to identify the subtle signs of emerging mental health concerns, navigate sensitive and supportive conversations, de-escalate moments of acute distress, and connect individuals with professional referral pathways.
Ultimately, this private training helps organisations strengthen their internal workplace culture, fulfil psychosocial safety responsibilities under modern WHS legislation, and build resilient, highly productive teams.
A Statement of Attainment will be released upon completion, under RTO Allen's Training Pty Ltd 90909.

Methods of delivery

We understand that different organisations require different levels of training depth. We offer two core training structures, both of which are delivered exclusively as dedicated, client-specific courses tailored to your unique industry, corporate context, or team risk profile.
-
The 3-Hour Mental Health First Aid Workshop: A fast-paced, highly practical introduction to mental health awareness. This streamlined session covers the baseline fundamentals of identifying common mental health concerns, breaking down stigma, initiating supportive conversations, and understanding support pathways.
-
The 7-Hour Mental Health First Aid Workshop: A comprehensive, deep-dive workplace mental health session. This full-day workshop expands on basic awareness to cover critical crisis response protocols, management of workplace intrapersonal psychosocial hazards, building robust frameworks for long-term psychological safety, recognising common mental health concerns and MHFA Response Skills, and assisting in the understanding of employer & employee responsiblities under state and territory relevant health and safety legislation.
100% mobile delivery: For this course, we travel to your workplace. We do not run public classroom calendars for this program. Our facilitators operate entirely on-site, travelling extensively across New South Wales and interstate to deliver private workshops directly to your workforce.
-
In-house corporate training: We bring the complete workshop, resource materials, and facilitator directly to your facility, regional office, or worksite anywhere in Australia.
-
Customised to your industry: Because every session is a dedicated private booking, content can be specifically aligned with your company policies, internal referral pathways, and industry-specific hazards.
