What is Standard?
The Standard face-to-face course is a longer duration program that focuses on both skills development, knowledge building, and practical assessment.
It provides thorough training to prepare students for their assessments on the day, making it ideal for those who benefit from additional practice and guided support before being assessed.
As First Aid training is typically refreshed every three years, we generally recommend the Standard course for students who are not regularly undertaking workplace-based hands-on first aid training, ensuring their skills remain current and confidently applied.
What is Express?
The Express face-to-face course is a shorter duration program focused primarily on practical assessment rather than training delivery.
This format does not include preparation or refresher training for assessments, as participants are expected to arrive with existing first aid knowledge and hands-on experience. It is suitable for individuals who have previously completed a first aid course and regularly apply these skills in the workplace or through a first aid–related role.
As Express courses are designed for experienced participants only, additional training or support may be required if a student is not yet ready to complete the assessments. In such cases, the trainer/assessor may recommend enrolling in a Standard course or, where appropriate, an additional fee may apply for extended support.
